Staffmark Group is hiring a Transportation Clerk in Charlotte, NC to coordinate transportation activities, optimize loads, and maintain shipment records. The role requires TMS experience, WMS/ERP familiarity, and strong Excel skills.

You will liaise with carriers, vendors, and warehouse staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery operations. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in transportation/logistics, a high school diploma or GED, and relevant degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain administration
• Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
• Strong computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or ERP platforms preferred

Responsibilities

• Build, consolidate, and optimize inbound and outbound loads using a Transportation Management System (TMS)
• Analyze order volumes, weight capacities, delivery schedules, and freight costs to maximize efficiency
• Adjust transportation schedules based on inventory levels and customer priorities
• Monitor and track shipments while maintaining accurate transportation records
• Audit freight bills and generate transportation performance reports
• Maintain bills of lading (BOLs), shipping manifests, and vendor compliance documentation
• Coordinate with carriers, logistics providers, and vendors to schedule pickups and deliveries
• Troubleshoot transportation delays, missed appointments, and carrier-related issues
• Work closely with warehouse personnel to verify inventory availability and load readiness
• Resolve discrepancies between system inventory and physical inventory counts
• Coordinate dock schedules and support warehouse logistics activities
• Provide transportation updates and shipment status reports to internal teams and customers
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment tracking and delivery schedules
• Communicate potential delays or inventory shortages to customer service and operations teams
