Job summary

Oldcastle APG in Morristown, TN is seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee daily transportation operations for multiple sites. You will lead a team of logistics professionals, ensure DOT compliance, and drive on-time delivery while optimizing costs.

The role requires a four-year degree, 5+ years of transportation experience, and the ability to travel up to 50%. Onsite responsibilities include coordinating with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to improve service levels.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in transportation field; including experience utilizing transportation management software systems
• Ability to travel up to 50%
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong Excel and Tableau skills
• Good verbal & written communications skills
• Ability to communicate and work with customers and drivers in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner

Responsibilities

• Strategic logistical planning for all locations.
• Lead a team of logistics coordinators, fleet managers, and drivers across the network.
• Ensure DOT regulations compliance for fleet and drivers.
• Hire, coach, and discipline transportation team members.
• Oversee on-time delivery performance and service quality.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate rates with core carriers.
• Ensure DOT hours of service compliance and driver qualification files.
• Provide reporting on key KPIs to management.
