Job summary

Homewood Mountain & Lake Club is seeking a Transportation Lead to oversee daily operations, supervise drivers, and coordinate routes for guests and staff at Lake Tahoe's West Shore location. This on-site role focuses on safety, compliance with laws, and efficient dispatch, while mentoring team members and collaborating with other departments to meet guest service standards.

Applicants should hold a valid Class C license, have prior supervisory experience, and be prepared to work a flexible

Qualifications

  • Valid Class C driver license required.
  • Prior supervisory experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety practices and procedures.
  • Experience in ski resort or hospitality setting preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily driver and operator activities.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules, routes, and dispatch.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and laws.
  • Inspect vehicles and address maintenance deficiencies.
  • Maintain transportation records and reports.
  • Coach and mentor team members.
  • Support other departments with transportation needs.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

This role will be located at one of Discovery Land Company’s locations: Homewood Mountain & Lake Club, set on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California.

Homewood is seeking a Transportation Lead to join the Parking & Transportation Department.

Job Summary

The Transportation Lead is responsible for overseeing daily transportation operations and ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of guests and employees. This position supervises the transportation team, coordinates schedules and routes, and ensures compliance with company policies and applicable transportation, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of drivers and operators.
  • Manage transportation schedules, routes, assignments, and dispatch activities.
  • Ensure drivers and operators follow company policies, safety procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, equipment, and transportation operations and address deficiencies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate transportation, driver, vehicle, maintenance, inspection, and incident records.
  • Train, coach, and mentor team members as needed to promote safe and effective job performance.
  • Support other departments with transportation-related needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Valid Class C Driver License and a driving record meeting the standards required by Homewood’s insurance carrier.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation safety practices and operational procedures.
  • Prior ski resort or hospitality experience preferred.
  • 18 years of age or older.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; additional languages preferred.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $22.60 – $28 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
