Job summary

Homewood Mountain Resort is seeking a Retail Lead to join the Guest Services Department at Homewood Mountain & Lake Club on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe in Homewood, California. You will lead the retail team, ensure exceptional service, and support inventory and merchandising efforts for a world-class guest experience.

The role requires hospitality experience, prior leadership, and a keen eye for detail, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Hospitality experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory/lead experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional, personalized guest service by addressing questions and needs and recommending products.
• Support and assist team with daily operations and guest service needs.
• Maintain the appearance, presentation and aesthetic standards of the Retail Shop.
• Support the Services Manager with retail inventory and management.
• Oversee preparation of promotional materials and merchandising displays.
• Set work procedures, staffing assignments, and schedules to meet business needs.
• Monitor workflow and suggest improvements to processes and standards.
• Serve as Manager on Duty during the Services Manager’s days off.
• Ensure the Retail Shop operates per the Department Operating Plan (DOP).
• Perform snow removal as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Homewood Mountain & Lake Club is seeking a Retail Lead to join the Guest Services Department.

Job Summary

The Retail Lead supports the day-to-day operations of the Retail department, ensuring every guest receives knowledgeable, efficient and exceptional service throughout their Homewood experience. This role serves as a key connection between guests and the resort’s retail products, helping guests identify and purchase the products that best meet their needs. The Retail Lead supports the Services Manager and Resort Services Director with daily operational responsibilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional, personalized guest service by answering questions, identifying guest needs, recommending appropriate retail products, and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Support and assist team with daily operations, questions, and guest service needs.
• Maintain the overall appearance, presentation, and aesthetic standards of the Retail Shop.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with guests, vendors, business partners, and internal departments.
• Support the Services Manager with retail inventory and management.
• Oversee the preparation of promotional materials and merchandising displays.
• Establish and adjust work procedures, staffing assignments, and schedules to meet business needs, guest volume, and operational requirements.
• Monitor daily workflow and recommend improvements to departmental processes, service standards, and operational performance.
• Serve as Manager on Duty during the Services Manager’s scheduled days off.
• Ensure the Retail Shop is maintained and operated in accordance with its Department Operating Plan (DOP).
• Snow removal as required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in hospitality, ski resorts, or a related field preferred.
• Previous supervisory, lead, or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate information accurately.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Long hours may be required due to business demands.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

The Company’s good faith estimate of the hourly rate it expects to pay for this role is $24-$27 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
