Job summary

DOWL is seeking motivated Transportation Interns to assist with Montana projects, learning from experienced engineers who mentor you through design tasks. You’ll use software to analyze, develop, draft, write, and prepare design packages supporting Transportation work and may collaborate with Water, Environmental, and Structures teams.

Field work to gather data may be included. You’ll join a growing, multidisciplinary firm with values around Innovation, Integrity, and Inclusion, and

Qualifications

Candidates must have at least one year of college-level course work toward a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
Prior work experience in civil engineering-related fields is desirable.
Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

Assist with field investigations, analysis of alternative solutions, and project design.
Perform engineering calculations in support of design projects.
Calculate construction quantities from plans and specifications to tabulate bid items and estimate construction costs.
Perform AutoCAD and or MicroStation drafting support.
Prepare and route project-related correspondence and record keeping.
Assist with writing and editing construction specifications and technical reports.
Complete other engineering-related duties as assigned.
