Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Hydraulics Engineer in the United States (Florida/Tampa) to lead hydraulic design for urban and rural projects.

You will work under a Project Manager and Senior Hydraulic Engineers on drainage, floodplain evaluations, and stormwater management, with opportunities for project management and client interaction. The role requires a civil engineering background with PE licensure, 3+ years in stormwater and water resources, and proficiency in CAD and hydraulics

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, environmental, water resources or related field.
Professional engineering license (state-licensed) required.
Minimum 3 years licensed experience in stormwater/water resources.
Strong design, communication, and collaboration skills.
Proficiency in hydrologic/hydraulic design, modeling, permitting and drainage reports.
Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation or OpenRoads Designer.

Responsibilities

Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager and Senior Hydraulic Engineers on highway/roadway projects and floodplain evaluations.
Prepare detailed engineering designs for infrastructure projects from small to large multi-phase programs.
Participate in drainage feasibility analyses through construction and delivery.
Assist project delivery with scope, budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
Prepare and review hydraulic calculations, floodplain impact studies, and stormwater modeling.
