Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) to support transportation initiatives within a fast-paced finance team. You will forecast, analyze variances, build reporting for operations, and prepare board materials to drive profitable growth.

You will partner with Transportation and FP&A to enhance margin analysis, improve models, and implement initiatives. This role reports to the FP&A Manager and requires strong modeling and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of FP&A or related experience.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Power BI, SQL, and Power Query is preferred.
• Ability to build partnerships with senior management and teams.
• Proactive self-starter with tight deadlines and attention to detail.
• Thrives in a dynamic startup environment and can navigate ambiguity.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Ability to influence stakeholders with strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough analysis on transportation initiatives monthly and communicate key drivers to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report weekly performance, focusing on Transportation cost and margin.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms-up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Develop models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with Transportation and convert to the financial budget.
• Create monthly/quarterly investor and board presentations with key metrics and variances.
• Analyze operational metrics and margins, communicating findings to business partners.
• Improve models and procedures using professional knowledge and company objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation in existing files and processes.
• Work with management to advance key company strategies.
• Provide proactive solutions to business needs and investments behind strategies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align objectives and actions.
