Job summary

First Student, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Transportation Field Supervisor to support safety, monitor driver performance, and oversee inspections. You will help with safety compliance, accident investigations, and on-site reporting while coordinating with management on driver activities.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, 1–2 years of supervisory experience, and strong communication. Proficiency in Word/Excel/Outlook and DOT safety awareness are required for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literacy with Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Experience with collision/injury claims a plus.
• Prior school bus driver experience preferred.

• Performs driver road checks and observes work readiness.
• Performs IPP safety contacts with drivers and corrects violations on scene.
• Dispatches and drives routes as needed.
• Assists management with driver interviews.
• Monitors on-time performance.

Pay Rate: $22.50 per hour

Major Responsibilities:

• Monitors driver pre and post trip inspections and equipment issues and takes corrective action.
• Performs driver road checks and observes drivers for work readiness.
• Performs IPP Safety contacts with drivers; corrects safety violations on the scene.
• Dispatches and drives routes as needed.
• Assists management with driver interviews.
• Monitors on time performance.

• Prior School Bus Driver experience preferred
