Job summary

Bolton & Menk is accepting applications for its 2027 summer season in the Transportation service group. This is a strong chance to work with a team of professionals and contribute to community infrastructure projects across the Midwest.

As an Engineering intern, you will assist with roadway and intersection design layouts, traffic counting, plan production, and cost estimates, plus office tasks such as reviews and calculations. Relocation and housing are not included.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering degree program.
• Minimum GPA 2.8; GPA 3.2+ preferred.
• Sophomore or higher with coursework in surveying and AutoCAD drafting.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation or access to public transit; travel reimbursed.
• Ability to work outdoors in varied conditions and navigate uneven terrain.

Responsibilities

• Assist on civil engineering projects with tasks involving civil engineering, planning and design.
• Assist with preparation of reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates.
• Assist with construction observation, staking and administration duties.
• Contribute to reports, design calculations and review shop drawings as needed.
