Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Engineering Specialist in Flagstaff to review, develop, and deliver the district's construction program. You will perform field reviews, gather data, review plans and cost estimates, and coordinate stakeholder meetings throughout the project life cycle.

The role requires examining construction documents, reporting findings, and serving as the district’s representative in meetings.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Civil Engineering principles as applied to development, construction and maintenance of state highways.
• Knowledge of Federal and State statutes, agency standards and procedures affecting transportation projects.
• Knowledge of ADOT requirements for design, construction and traffic planning per ADOT guidelines.
• Knowledge of highway construction methods including drainage, traffic engineering and structures.

Responsibilities

• Review, develop and deliver the department's construction program, including field reviews, data gathering, plans review and cost estimates.
• Coordinate and attend stakeholder and project meetings; prepare written reports and analysis.
• Track the full life-cycle of district construction projects and act as primary district contact in the absence of the district administrator.
• Represent the district at public/stakeholder meetings and coordinate project team communications.
