Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking a Regional Traffic Engineer to oversee technical reviews and provide guidance and supervision to Traffic Engineering Specialists and Traffic Studies Analysts. The position offers a $4,000 hiring incentive and requires a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with an Arizona PE or eligibility to obtain one within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• Active Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility to obtain AZ PE within 6 months.
• Willingness to obtain required licensure and complete E-Verify.

Responsibilities

• Review development plans for compliance with traffic standards and efficiency.
• Prepare traffic engineering studies and assess RSA field reviews.
• Supervise TES staff and mentor junior engineers in the unit.
• Coordinate with internal/external partners on traffic projects and issues.
• Attend meetings and provide guidance on traffic control, signing, and signals.
