Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Illinois team, leading a client-focused transportation and traffic engineering group across planning, design, and construction projects.

You will mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, and collaborate with multiple disciplines. A PE license and 15+ years of transportation experience are required, with established government client relationships and marketing involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• 15+ years transportation and/or structural experience with diverse project experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• Experience with MODOT, County and Local Agency projects and established client relationships.
• Proven leadership skills with engineering staff.
• Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment.
• Ability to manage clients and projects effectively.
• Ability to participate in and lead marketing activities.
• Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and knowledge of MicroStation and Geopak.

Farnsworth Group is seekingan Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our other offices as you grow and lead a client focused, technically excellent transportation and traffic engineering team to serve local, statewide, and nationwide clients in the support of multiple planning, design, and construction projects.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and lead projects and teams related to transportation planning and design, traffic studies, and/or construction engineering
• Develop and Mentor Staff
• Collaborate with other disciplines
• Client Relations
• New Business Development
• Establish and maintain budgets and schedules
• Work in partnership with leadership and other team members throughout the Transportation Group and Company
  

What You’ll Need:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Civil Engineering program
• 15+ years transportation and / or structural experience with diverse project experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• Experience working on and with MODOT, County and Local Agency projects and have established relationships with these clients
