Job summary

Woolpert, Inc. is seeking Transportation Engineering Interns for Summer 2027 in our Ohio offices (Dayton, Columbus and Cincinnati).

This full-time internship (40 hours/week) offers real-world project involvement and mentorship from Licensed Engineers within the transportation team. You will assist on traffic, roadway and pedestrian projects using Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status.
• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree or civil adjacent degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
• Be ready and open to learning!
• Be located in Ohio near one of our offices or be willing to relocate at your own expense as this position requires at least 2 days/week of in office time.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the industry leading Transportation team.
• Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside Licensed Engineers that are experts in their fields.
• Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as analysis, design, plan production and cost estimation.
• Use industry leading applications such as Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer, alongside discipline specific programs that aid in design.
• Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
• Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.
