Job summary

WSP USA invites talented undergraduates to join its Columbus, OH office as a Civil-Roadway Engineering Intern for a 12-week summer program starting May 17, 2027. You'll work on major transportation projects in the southeast US, alongside senior staff, gaining practical design and analysis experience.

As a summer intern, you will support engineering tasks, learn basic civil engineering principles, assist with design calculations, and help prepare final design plans and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation date December 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Interest in Transportation Design or related field and a desire to grow in WSP's projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and general tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic Civil Engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Help collect and maintain project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
