Job summary

Baxter & Woodman is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern to support our Bannockburn, O’Hare, Crystal Lake, Naperville, or Mokena, IL offices. This on‑the‑job experience will involve transportation planning and design within a collaborative team environment.

You will assist with plan reviews, CAD drafting, traffic analysis, data collection, surveying, and construction inspection while pursuing a 4‑year civil engineering degree with a transportation focus.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree with a transportation emphasis.
• Available to start May 2027.
• Willing to travel throughout Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan Review and coordination for transportation projects.
