Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern in Wisconsin to assist with transportation projects across the state. The role involves using design software to prepare engineering documents and cost estimates, and gaining hands-on experience in transportation engineering.

You will work with experienced engineers both independently and in teams, solving problems and applying engineering principles to real-world projects on local to interstate scales.

Qualifications

• Completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management or related field from an accredited college or university.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced engineers on transportation projects
• Use Autodesk Civil 3D to prepare engineering documents, computations, and quantity estimates
• Analyze and prepare reports, specifications, plans, schedules, studies, permits and other design documents for projects
• Assist with CAD-based design work and support the design and plan production of transportation-related projects
• Support roadway, site, and transportation design through calculations, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
• Participate in construction inspection, documentation, and field observation activities
• Assist with surveying and data collection efforts
• Performing additional duties and special projects as assigned
