Job summary

Westwood Professional Services invites applications for a Transportation Engineering Intern in Wisconsin. You will join a roadway design team and support highway, roadway, and multimodal infrastructure projects for public agencies, applying coursework to real projects.

You will learn to create roadway plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads, and other design software, while collaborating with senior engineers to prepare construction documents and cost estimates.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate Civil Engineering program.
• Effective verbal and written communication with clients and team members.
• Willingness to learn in a flexible, cross-disciplinary environment.
• Willingness to attend site visits and perform outdoor field work when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with roadway plan and profile sheets and typical sections preparation.
• Design, check drawings, layouts, and estimates using engineering software.
• Support quantity calculations, cost estimates, and construction doc prep.
• Review geometric design elements against state DOT criteria.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams to ensure progress and communication.
• Travel to project sites to gather data and interface with clients and staff.
