Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. seeks an Engineer I to assist with engineering system design across multiple projects, performing design calculations, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.

Under supervision, you will prepare deliverable drawings, support meetings, and ensure code compliance. Bachelor's degree required; 0–1 year experience preferred; EIT encouraged. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MATLAB, and SolidWorks is a plus. On-site in San Antonio, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• 0–1 year of experience preferred; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) encouraged.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks or discipline-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Designers in design and detail of engineering systems; write/edit specs and research options.
• Apply techniques and procedures to perform tasks; research findings and provide recommendations.
• Collect data, perform basic computations or analyses; prepare drawings/visual aids.
• Participate in meetings to ensure code compliance; may conduct site investigations.
• Interact with staff, public, officials, and contractors; limited client-facing responsibilities.
