Job summary

The State of South Carolina, Department of Transportation, is seeking an Assistant Resident Maintenance Engineer to support daily to monthly maintenance operations in Horry County. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management, plus 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Review requests daily, weekly, or monthly and perform related duties.
Assist the RME and OSHA Officer to ensure safety regulations are understood and followed.
Supervise maintenance of drainage structures, pavement repairs, and pavement markings within the county area.
Address public complaints and monitor HMMS program.
Assist in supervising use of state equipment and maintain related records in SCDOT systems.
Conduct personnel meetings and assist with hiring decisions and disciplinary actions when needed.
Assist in administrative tasks such as composing reports and daily/work forms.
