Job summary

DRMP seeks a hands-on, mid-level transportation engineer to serve as technical lead in the Gainesville office. You will perform road design, modeling, and plan production using ORD and Bentley tools, while mentoring UF interns and early-career staff.

Work with project managers across DRMP offices, support staff development, and contribute to Florida DOT projects. The role emphasizes sound engineering judgment, quality control, and delivery of projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Six+ years of transportation engineering design and production experience.
• Experience with ORD and model-based design.
• Ability to lead technical work and mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on transportation engineering design, modeling, and production support.
• Develop model-based designs, plans, quantities, and other deliverables using ORD.
• Perform roadway design and related transportation assignments.
• Coordinate with PMs and technical leaders across DRMP offices.
• Train interns and early-career staff in design fundamentals and workflows.
• Review work for accuracy and quality, and provide feedback to staff.
• Establish repeatable workflows and support project delivery across Florida.
