Job summary

GRAEF, a leading U.S. consulting firm, invites an experienced Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join its Milwaukee headquarters. You will oversee transportation projects, mentor team members, and lead business development activities with clients and agencies.

You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary group, apply design standards, and advance projects from concept through completion. A strong background in highway design andWisDOT knowledge is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 8+ years in transportation engineering and design.
• WisDOT design/standards knowledge preferred.
• WI PE license required.
• Experience in business development and client management.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil3D.

Responsibilities

• Project oversight including setting priorities and controlling project financials.
• The ability to serve as a technical resource for a multi‑disciplined team.

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Transportation Engineer/Project Manager in our Corporate Headquarters office in downtown Milwaukee located in The Avenue.

Transportation Engineer/Project Manager responsibilities include:

• Project oversight including setting priorities and developing objectives, project financial management as well as hands‑on involvement in the design process.
• The ability to serve as a technical resource for a multi‑disciplined team.
• Project engineering and management.
• Business development activities including proposal preparation, project interviews/presentations, and client management.
• Professional society involvement.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of practical design experience in transportation engineering, highway design, and local street design. Candidates with additional experience are encouraged to apply.
• Knowledge of WisDOT design and standards is highly preferred.
• PE license in WI.
• Experience in business development and project development processes, including marketing activities, client development, project tracking and proposal development.
• Project Management experience with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation a plus.
• Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members is necessary.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D software is a significant advantage.
