GRAEF, based in Minneapolis, MN, seeks a Transportation Engineer to design and advance highway and roadway projects within a multi-disciplinary team. You will mentor junior engineers, interact with clients, and help grow business with MnDOT partners.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, adherence to MnDOT standards, and pursuing project opportunities while delivering high-quality design packages. Flexible schedule and some remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of transportation engineering design experience.
• Knowledge of MnDOT design standards.
• MN PE license is required.
• Experience with project management for MnDOT projects.
• Experience in business development and proposal development is a plus.
• Strong communication and client collaboration skills.
• Experience mentoring staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and advancement of transportation projects.
• Serve as technical resource for multi-disciplinary teams.
• Prepare highway/roadway plans, specs, and estimates.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Transportation Engineer in our Minneapolis office. This position offers the opportunity to work on the design of a variety of transportation and roadway projects. Transportation Engineer Responsibilities Include

• Hands-on involvement in the design process and project advancement including setting priorities and developing objectives.
• The ability to serve as a technical resource for a multi-disciplined team.
• Design opportunities will generally include:
• Highway and Roadway Plans, Specifications and Estimates
• Sewer Plans, Specifications and Estimates
• Project Permitting
• Project Reports
• Mentor Junior Engineers
• Professional society involvement.

We are considering Transportation Engineers who possess the following minimum qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of practical design experience in transportation engineering, highway design, and local street design.
• Knowledge of MnDOT design and standards.
• PE license in MN required.
• Project Management experience with the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
• Experience in business development and project development processes, including marketing activities, client development, project tracking and proposal development a plus.
• Good communication skills and a proven track record in successfully interacting with clients and internal team members is necessary.
• Experience mentoring staff.
• Knowledge of MicroStation and Open Roads Designer is an advantage.
