Moffatt & Nichol is seeking an experienced engineer to perform roadway design tasks from preliminary to final design in Raleigh, North Carolina. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering and 8-12 years of experience in roadway design, with knowledge in OpenRoads Designer preferred.
The role includes developing project specifications, managing client communications, and providing engineering design services. Moffatt & Nichol offers a highly competitive benefits package, including family coverage, generous paid time off, and more.
Perform engineering design tasks for roadway projects from preliminary to final design for DOT, municipal, and private sector clients.
Develop specifications, cost estimates, and prepare final bid packages.
Maintain and establish working relationships with regulatory agencies, local government, NCDOT, and other state and private sector clients.
Provide engineering design services for design‑bid‑build highway and alternative delivery of projects.
Manage client communications and project development for all stages of transportation design projects.
Participate in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost, scheduling, and performance.
Assist in identifying schedule and cost variances and developing recommendations for corrective action.

Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
