Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a civil engineering intern in our Philadelphia, PA office. You will gain exposure to transportation engineering disciplines, working with experienced engineers on projects from local intersections to major corridor programs.

You will develop skills through mentorship, hands-on project exposure, and collaboration with clients like PennDOT and private partners. You must be pursuing an ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering and be proficient in MS

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.

We are currently seeking a civil engineering student for an Internship position in our Philadelphia, PA office. This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to the different disciplines within transportation engineering.

Join our Transportation Group and thrive in a collaborative culture, focused on active mentorship, innovation, and accelerated career growth. You’ll collaborate directly with experienced engineers on projects ranging from local intersection improvements to major interchange and corridor programs — with clients including PennDOT, MDOT, DelDOT, VDOT, and private-sector partners across the Mid-Atlantic. You will gain broad project exposure (with occasional national and international work) and hands‑on experience from day one.

Requirements

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Ability to effectively communicate orally/written.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.

The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $21.50 - 24.50.. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
