Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP is seeking a civil engineering student for an Internship in Mechanicsburg, PA. You will gain exposure to transportation engineering disciplines while working with experienced engineers on projects ranging from local intersections to major interchanges, with mentors guiding your growth.

You will learn on the job, collaborate with a team, and contribute to design tasks, reports, and 2D/3D drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally/written.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Assist transportation engineering projects under supervision.
• Collaborate with engineers on design tasks and drawings.
• Prepare project documentation and drawings for review and submission.

We are currently seeking a civil engineering student for an Internship position in our Mechanicsburg, PA office. This position offers the opportunity to gain exposure to the different disciplines within transportation engineering.

You’ll collaborate directly with experienced engineers on projects ranging from local intersection improvements to major interchange and corridor programs — with clients including PennDOT, MDOT, DelDOT, VDOT, and private-sector partners across the Mid-Atlantic. You will gain broad project exposure (with occasional national and international work) and hands‑on experience from day one.

Requirements:

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Ability to effectively communicate orally/written.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience working with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Positive attitude and willingness to work cooperatively with others.

The expected hourly compensation range for this position is $21.50 - 24.50.. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
