Suffolk is seeking a Civil Engineer II-level professional to manage design and construction of capital improvement projects. You will administer contracts, prepare bid documents, and oversee project schedules while coordinating with engineers, contractors, and developers to ensure compliance with city codes and standards.

The role requires strong project management skills, engineering review capabilities, and the ability to respond to citizen inquiries about drainage and utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, or closely related field.
• 3 years of project management experience for design/construction of engineering projects, engineering plan review, and related work.
• Virginia Engineer-in-Training certification required; valid driver's license required.

Responsabilités

• Manage design and construction of moderately complex capital improvement projects (CIP).
• Administer contracts and supervise project schedules, bid documents, and procurement.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, surveyors, and developers to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Review plans for compliance with City, State, and Federal codes; monitor project budgets and funding status.
• Conduct site inspections, provide technical support, and respond to citizen inquiries about drainage, erosion, and utilities.
