Job summary

Texas Department of Transportation in Dallas District seeks a Transportation Engineer I or II in District Design. The role involves managing and performing design work for complex mobility projects, with exposure to in-house design processes and hydrology & hydraulics responsibilities.

The position offers a salary range from $65,104 to $114,099 yearly, with benefits and opportunities for professional development. Onsite work in Mesquite, TX is typical, with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science.
• 4 years engineering/transportation engineering experience for Engineer I; 5 years for Engineer II.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license; Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or able to obtain in Texas within 6 months; good knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly advanced and complex engineering design work.
• Coordinates review and processing of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E).
• Monitors consultants’ progress and work quality; reviews invoices.
• Represents the district at technical meetings and public hearings; presents information clearly.
