Job summary

CDM Smith, based in Charleston, SC, is seeking a Civil/Transportation/Structural Engineer to contribute to large-scale infrastructure designs such as highways, tunnels, mass transit, and aviation projects. Under direct supervision, you will support design development and regulatory compliance across multiple projects.

You will review plans, update design requirements, and participate in site inspections to ensure alignment with local specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Civil, transportation, or structural engineering (or related discipline).
• 0 years of experience.
• Travel up to 10% or less; frequency contingent on duties.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Develops large scale projects such as highways, tunnels, mass transit and aviation engineering designs of basic complexity.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Inspects new construction and existing transportation structures as necessary to stay aligned with location specifications.
• Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs.
• Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals; may create posters or presentations for conferences.
