Job summary

Ohio Department of Transportation in Ohio is looking for a Transportation Engineer 1 to begin a structured training program and rotations through core civil engineering disciplines. The program includes a 12-month plan and scheduled rotations across Planning & Engineering, Construction, and Highway Maintenance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering with an EIT eligibility. ODOT offers paid time off, holidays, and a pension plan as part of the benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering; Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
• Civil Engineering
• This position is overtime eligible based on FLSA Standards.

Responsibilities

• You will receive a thorough introduction to the three core civil engineering disciplines.
• You will work along side of ODOT professional engineers.
• You will receive hands‑on transportation training & experience needed to further your career as an engineer with ODOT.
