Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Mid-Atlantic team.

A minimum of 3 years of roadway/traffic experience is required, with a hybrid schedule allowing up to two days from home each week. Multiple office locations, including Rockville, Towson, Mechanicsburg, and Herndon, are considered. The ideal candidate will contribute to data collection, alignments, design of ramp and barrier elements, and traffic plans while collaborating with project

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in roadway, highway, and traffic control plan preparation.
• Engineering-in-Training (EIT/FE) preferred.
• Experience with Microstation Open Roads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Support transportation projects including data collection, existing condition and alternative analysis, engineering reports, and permit application drawings.
• Develop horizontal and vertical alignments.
• Perform cross-section and superelevation design, roadside barrier design, ADA curb ramp design, and roadway modeling.
• Provide design support for erosion and sediment control plans, stormwater management plans, right‑of‑way plans, utility relocation plans, and related traffic plans.

AMT is seeking a Transportation Engineer, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, to join the transportation team in one of our Mid-Atlantic Office Locations.

This position offers a competitive salary and benefits along with the opportunity for significant challenges and rewards. Selected candidate(s) may work from our Towson, MD; Rockville, MD; Mechanicsburg, PA; or Herndon, VA office locations. In addition to supporting projects in their assigned office, the candidate may be involved with other AMT offices and project opportunities.

BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution Required
