Job summary

Fishbeck is seeking a Transportation Engineer to support and lead roadway design projects with a focus on Michigan locations including Farmington Hills, Grand Rapids, and Lansing. The role involves collaboration with clients, agencies, and multi-disciplinary teams across the Midwest to deliver high-quality transportation solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, 0–10+ years of roadway experience, and proficiency in MicroStation/Geopak; AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0–10+ years of roadway engineering experience; MDOT/local agency experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer license in Michigan preferred; required for senior-level.
• Proficiency in MicroStation/Geopak; AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus.
• Familiarity with HEC-RAS, HY8, StormCAD, and 3D modeling.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support plan production and technical design for roadway projects.
• Collaborate with clients, agencies, MDOT, and contractors to deliver projects.
• Assist with or lead project budgets, schedules, and technical/marketing proposals.
• Prepare quantities and construction cost estimates for bidding.
• Provide drainage design, signing plans, pavement markings, and 3D modeling.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams across Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.
