The South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks a Construction Inspector Supervisor in Richland County to monitor highway and bridge projects, ensure compliance with plans, specifications and FHWA regulations. You will coordinate with the Resident Construction Engineer and notify contractors of deficiencies.

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and at least one year of related experience, or equivalent.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management.
• At least 1 year of engineering or construction management work experience or an approved equivalent.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate inspections with RCE.

Mansioni

• Monitor highway/bridge construction for compliance with plans, specs, and standards.
• Notify contractor and Resident Construction Engineer of deficiencies and verify resolution.
• Supervise inspections on work conducted by contractors to ensure compliance.
• Perform certified inspections in areas like grading, paving, drainage, concrete, asphalt.
• Inspect traffic control for complex projects to protect workers and public safety.
• Prepare monthly and final estimates and worksheets to ensure accurate payments.
• Ensure conformance with FHWA regulations, permits, and contract specs.
• Document deficiencies and coordinate with contractor and RCE to resolve.
• May supervise staff, coaching and training as needed; manage work processes.
