Job summary

Orbit Search is seeking a Civil Engineer to design and manage transportation infrastructure projects from planning through construction support. You will work with engineers, planners, and project managers to deliver highways, intersections, and multimodal facilities while coordinating with clients and agencies.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering degree and experience in transportation engineering, with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in transportation or roadway engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or similar software.
• Strong understanding of transportation design standards and engineering principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, roadways, intersections, and multimodal facilities.
• Prepare engineering plans, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
• Perform roadway geometric design, drainage coordination, traffic analysis, and utility coordination.
• Support project delivery through all phases, from feasibility studies to final design and construction.

• Ensure designs comply with applicable federal, state, and local standards, including Ohio DOT requirements where applicable.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and quality assurance.
• Participate in client meetings and present technical findings as needed.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in delivering transportation infrastructure projects that improve mobility, safety, and quality of life. Working alongside experienced engineers, planners, and project managers, you’ll contribute to projects from planning and design through construction support.

Key Responsibilities
