Job summary

LVI Associates seeks a Transportation Engineer to join our Columbus, Ohio team. You will lead planning, design, and delivery of transportation infrastructure for public and private clients, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve mobility, safety, and community connectivity.

Responsibilities include roadway/highway design, calculations, and reports; coordination with regulators; and field support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • PE license in Ohio or eligible by reciprocity.
  • 4+ years of transportation engineering experience.
  • Experience with roadway design, intersections, corridor studies, and transportation projects.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Familiarity with ODOT standards and project development processes.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a consulting environment.

  • Develop design calculations, reports, technical specifications, and construction documents.
  • Perform roadway geometric design, drainage coordination, utility coordination, and traffic analyses.
  • Utilize engineering software including MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related transportation design tools.
  • Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders throughout project development.
  • Assist with project planning, scope development, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Support preparation of permit applications and environmental documentation as required.
  • Participate in field reviews, site investigations, and construction support activities.
  • Ensure designs comply with ODOT standards, AASHTO guidelines, and applicable local regulations.
  • Contribute to proposal development and business development efforts.
