Job summary

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) seeks a Transportation System Modeler to conduct emissions and air quality related modeling in the Air Quality Technical Planning and Analysis program. The role involves GIS, data handling, and model automation to support regional planning and public engagement.

You will collaborate with local governments and transportation agencies, developing materials and presentations for committees and the public.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in civil engineering, computer science, data science, or urban planning.
• One year or less of job-related experience in travel demand modeling, data analysis, and model development.
• Experience with emissions and air quality modeling is preferred.
• Ability to program in Java, Python, or C++.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and manipulate emissions and air quality models.
• Collect and work with air quality and emissions data.
• Automate models through software implementation.
• Analyze data and prepare spatial maps and charts.
• Prepare documentation and training materials.
• Draft presentations for committee members and the public.
