Job summary

Ayden Healthcare of Wauseon is seeking a Transportation Driver to safely move residents to medical appointments, outings, and other scheduled destinations. You will assist residents boarding vehicles, secure wheelchairs, and maintain clear communication with nursing staff.

The role requires a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and prior experience driving passenger vans or in medical transport is preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
• Experience driving passenger vans or in medical transport is preferred.
• Experience with elderly populations strongly preferred.
• Willingness to train on wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate facility van to transport residents to appointments, hospitals, and outings.
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair securement when applicable.
• Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts or mobility restraints.
• Maintain timely pick-up and drop-off schedules.
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs and schedules.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns.
• Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and in good working condition.
• Follow all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Provide courteous, respectful interaction with residents, families, and staff.

The Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other scheduled destinations while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate facility van to transport residents to appointments, hospitals, and community outings

• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair securement when applicable

• Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts or mobility restraints
