Job summary

Ayden Healthcare of Oregon and Toledo is seeking a Transportation Driver for our Skilled Nursing Facility. The driver will safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and other destinations while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.

Responsibilities include assisting residents into vehicles, securing mobility devices, maintaining schedules, and coordinating with nursing staff.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Preference to STNA candidates
• Previous experience driving a passenger van, medical transport, or similar preferred
• Experience working with elderly or healthcare populations strongly preferred
• Ability to safely operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices (or willingness to train)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift, push, and assist residents as needed

Responsibilities

• Safely operate facility van to transport residents to appointments, hospitals, and community outings
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair securement when applicable
• Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts or mobility restraints
• Maintain timely pick-up and drop-off schedules
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs and schedules
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and in good working condition
• Follow all local, state, and federal transportation regulations
• Provide courteous, respectful interaction with residents, families, and staff
