Job summary

Aventura at Oakwood Village part of Aventura Healthcare Group is hiring a Van Driver to safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and activities while delivering compassionate service. Full-Time and PRN positions available with competitive pay and benefits.

The role requires a valid driver’s license with a clean record, CDL and passenger endorsement, and the ability to assist elderly residents. Background checks and drug screening are mandatory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, hospital visits, outings, and activities.
• Assist residents with boarding/exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair or mobility aid support as needed.
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness, perform safety checks, and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain transportation logs and schedules accurately.
• Follow traffic laws and company policies, and communicate with nursing staff, families, and coordinators.
• Provide friendly, respectful, and compassionate service to all residents.

Position Summary:

The Van Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of residents while ensuring comfort, dignity, and excellent service. This role plays an important part in supporting resident independence and quality of life.

Responsibilities:

• Safely transport residents to and from appointments, hospital visits, community outings, and scheduled activities
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the vehicle safely, including wheelchair or mobility aid support as needed
• Ensure vehicle cleanliness, safety checks, and routine maintenance reporting
• Maintain transportation logs, schedules, and documentation accurately
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies
• Communicate effectively with nursing staff, families, and appointment coordinators
• Provide friendly, respectful, and compassionate service to all residents

Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required

• Previous transportation, van driving, or healthcare experience preferred
