Job summary

Ayden Healthcare of Wauseon is seeking a Transportation Driver to safely transport residents to appointments, outings, and other destinations while maintaining comfort, dignity, and safety.

The role requires assisting residents with entering/exiting the vehicle, securing wheelchairs, and ensuring everyone is buckled in. You will coordinate with nursing staff, perform vehicle checks, and maintain clean, fueled, and compliant transportation.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Experience driving a passenger van or medical transport preferred.
• Experience with elderly or healthcare populations preferred.
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices (training available).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to lift, push, and assist residents as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate facility van to transport residents to appointments and community outings.

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Transportation Driver to join our team at a Skilled Nursing Facility. The Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from medical appointments, outings, and other scheduled destinations while ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate facility van to transport residents to appointments, hospitals, and community outings

• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair securement when applicable

• Ensure all passengers are properly secured with seat belts or mobility restraints

• Maintain timely pick-up and drop-off schedules

• Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding resident needs and schedules

• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns

• Keep vehicle clean, fueled, and in good working condition

• Follow all local, state, and federal transportation regulations

• Provide courteous, respectful interaction with residents, families, and staff

Qualifications

• Previous experience driving a passenger van, medical transport, or similar preferred
