Job summary

Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking a professional, compassionate Transportation Driver to provide safe transportation for residents and new admissions, and to set a positive first impression as families transition to care.

Essential functions include transporting residents to hospitals and appointments, communicating clearly with residents, families and staff, assisting in and out of the vehicle, and keeping the vehicle clean and safe.

Qualifications

• CNA license preferred for safe transfers.
• Active Washington State driver’s license in good standing.
• Strong interpersonal, friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.
• Experience with elderly or vulnerable populations a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to hospitals, appointments, and other facilities as needed.
• Provide clear and respectful communication with residents, families, and facility staff.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the trip.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times.
• Report any incidents, concerns, or vehicle maintenance needs promptly.
• Support residents during transitions, offering reassurance and promoting a smooth experience for both residents and their families.

Transportation Driver

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM (hours TBD)
Wage Range: $24–$27/hour

CNA License Preferred

Job Summary:

Alaska Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking a professional, compassionate Transportation Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for residents and new admissions. It is critical that the driver sets a strong, positive first impression. The driver not only represents our facility during hospital pickups and transfers but also helps families feel comfortable and reassured as their loved one transitions into our care.

Essential Functions:

• Safely transport residents to and from hospitals, doctor appointments, and other facilities as needed.
• Provide clear and respectful communication with residents, families, and facility staff.
• Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the trip.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times.
• Report any incidents, concerns, or vehicle maintenance needs promptly.
• Support residents during transitions, offering reassurance and promoting a smooth experience for both residents and their families.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred (helps ensure safe and comfortable transfers)
• Active Washington State driver’s license in good standing.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and reliably.i
• Experience working with elderly or vulnerable populations a plus.

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to assist residents with mobility challenges.
• Attention to safety and detail in both driving and assisting residents.
