Job summary

Cedar Lake is seeking a Part-Time Driver - Non CDL to transport clients to Medicaid-approved appointments and residences in Louisville and La Grange. You will operate a 12-15 passenger vehicle and ensure safety, compliance, and timely documentation.

Requirements include a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license with insurance, and at least 1 year of transportation experience. Prior work with individuals with IDD is a plus; training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Valid Driver's License and insurance required.
• 1 year of transportation experience preferred.
• Ability to drive 12-15 passenger van or bus.
• Driving record must meet DOT and insurer standards.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients to Medicaid approved appointments and residences.
• Operate a 12-15 passenger vehicle in Louisville and La Grange.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and agency policies.
• Maintain updated driver training and safety records.
• Inspect vehicles for ADA and other regulatory compliance.
• Maintain client records with confidentiality.

What you’ll do:

This role is responsible for driving clients to Medicaid approved appointments and residences in Louisville and La Grange. This role functions as a member of the Cedar Lake Residences team. .

• Effectively and efficiently transport individuals to destinations that are provided.
• Ensure that all relevant laws, regulations and policies are enforced.
• Perform driving responsibilities independent of direct care responsibilities.
• Responsible for maintaining updated driver training.
• Responsible for inspection of vehicles to ensure compliance with all ADA and other Federal, State and Local regulatory standardsand laws.
• Maintain related individual records. Ensure that information is complete, accurate, submitted in a timely manner and remains confidential.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What sets you apart:

• Ability to drive 12-15 passenger van or bus.
• Valid Driver's License & insurance required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Driving record acceptable to DOT and insurance requirements.
• 1 year of transportation experience
• Ability to use technology, including mobile apps
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, I/DD is preferred but not required

What your typical schedule looks like:

• Part-time, hourly. Split shift - morning and afternoon. Some flexibility is required to meet the needs of the individuals we support, and to provide staff training for all shifts.
