Job summary

Cedar Lake Residences in Louisville, KY is seeking a Program Director to lead the overall management and supervision of direct care support services for adults with IDD. The role requires strategic oversight of financial management, staffing, and compliance to ensure high-quality resident care.

You will work with multiple departments, coordinate with the Executive Director, and engage with community agencies to promote independence and personalized supports.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Services preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience working with individuals with IDD or comparable human services, including at least two years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Familiarity with Supports for Community Living (SCL) Waiver and group home licensure processes is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall management, development, and supervision of Cedar Lake Residences' direct care support services.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, supervision, and when appropriate, dismissal of Cedar Lake Residences staff.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with SCL Waiver and group home licensure requirements.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Transportation, Maintenance, Residential, Community Integration, and Nursing departments.
  • Monitor Person-Centered Service Plans and promote resident independence.
  • Participate in participant selection with Executive Director and Admissions Committee.
  • Represent the agency to public/private agencies and maintain external relationships.
  • Set departmental goals and baseline performance measures.
  • Identify areas of efficiency with internal resources.
  • Initiate contact with resident families/guardians as appropriate.
  • Perform other related work as assigned.

What you’ll do:

Cedar Lake Residences supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live with dignity, independence, and inclusion. The Program Director leads the overall management, development, and supervision of Cedar Lake Residences' direct care support services. As a member of the Cedar Lake Residences team, the Program Director may also provide direct support to any individual served by the organization as needed.

  • Responsible for the oversight of all direct care support programs including financial management, purchasing, physical maintenance, services and support for individual residents and the facilities. Maintains availability by cell phone.
  • Responsible for the process of recruitment, employment, training, supervision and, when appropriate, the dismissal of the personnel of Cedar Lake Residences. Directs, supervises, guides, and supports the Cedar Lake Residence leadership team, who perform these duties.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of, and be responsible for, ensuring regulatory compliance with the Supports for Community Living Waiver and group home licensure requirements.
  • Works collaboratively with the Compliance Department, Transportation Department, Maintenance Department, Residential Department, Community Integration Department, and Nursing.
  • Monitors the development and implementation of individual Person-Centered Service Plans. Encourages implementation of goals with the objective of increasing self-reliance and independence. Monitors required documentation to ensure progress and concerns are reflected.
  • In concert with the Executive Director, and working with the Admissions Committee, is responsible for participant selection.
  • As may be designated by the Executive Director, represents the agency and its objectives through contact with various public and private, state, and local agencies. Promotes and maintains working relationships with outside agency administrators, governmental officials, and other such personnel.
  • Set clear departmental goals to monitor the success and opportunities for all program options. Establish baseline performance measures for ongoing tracking.
  • Work alongside internal resources to identify areas of efficiency.
  • Initiate contact with resident families/guardians as appropriate.
  • Perform all other related work as assigned.
What sets you apart:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services is preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience working with individuals with IDD or comparable experience in human services, including at least two years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Familiarity with the Supports for Community Living (SCL) Waiver and group home licensure and certification processes is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess a high level of organization, strategic thinking, and innovative thought.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
What your typical schedule looks like:
  • Full time, 40 hours or more per week. May include occasional evening/weekend work to meet resident/family needs and respond to facility needs.
