Job summary

Arcadia Care is seeking a Transportation Director to coordinate and provide safe transportation for residents to hospitals, clinics, and community activities. The role emphasizes customer service, safety, and professional conduct in a healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Illinois driver’s license meeting DOT licensure and medical requirements.
• Experience operating bus or van transportation preferred.
• Prior work in a healthcare or senior living setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to activities, appointments, and outings.
• Monitor resident safety during boarding, transit, and at facilities.
• Maintain vehicle upkeep, inspections, maintenance, and required records.

Job Summary

The Transportation Director will schedule and coordinate transportation services for residents as well as provide the transportation of patients to and from hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers and private residences in a safe, secure, and professional manner.

Essential Duties

• Provides a high level of customer service and assistance while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments, and other outings in accordance with safety standards.
• Is responsible for the safety of residents at all times. Monitors resident safety on the bus, while boarding and departing the vehicle as well as the entrance and exit of buildings.
• Responsible for general upkeep of the vehicle including inspections, regularly scheduled maintenance, and all required paperwork.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Active Illinois Driver’s License, meeting DOT required vehicle licensure and physical.
• Must be between the age of twenty-five (25) and seventy-four (74) per facility insurance requirements.
• Experience as a bus or van driver preferred.
