Job summary

DOWL is seeking an entry-level Transportation Designer 1 to contribute to transportation projects including sidewalks, bike paths, and roadways. You will assist with CAD drafting, geometric layout, 3D modeling, and preparing technical reports under supervision.

The role emphasizes learning, strong work ethic, and collaboration within a team of engineers. Licensing support and basic project documentation will be part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or similar field required.
• EIT/EI certification within 6 months of hire.
• Valid driver's license to support field duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level engineering calculations, design and drafting for transportation projects.
• Assist with site visits, CAD drafting, geometric roadway layout and design.
• Prepare 3D modeling, project specifications and technical reports.
• Calculate construction quantities and estimate costs, and handle project correspondence.
• Work under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer.
