Job summary

WSB invites motivated students to join the Transportation Design Intern program in Jacksonville, FL. You will work alongside engineers on transportation infrastructure projects, gaining hands-on experience in plan design, analyses, and project documentation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering from an accredited university.
• Entering Junior or Senior year during the internship.
• Interest in transportation design, roadway, or traffic engineering.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, drawings, and specs.
• Strong communication, organizational and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and preparation of plans for transportation projects.
• Support engineers with design calculations, cost estimates, and analyses.
• Prepare reports, specifications, permits, and other docs.
• Review drawings for accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Participate in meetings, site visits, and data collection.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, and designers on solutions.
• Support project coordination and development of design options.
• Use industry software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads.
• Learn transportation design standards and project delivery processes.
• Contribute to safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems.
