Job summary

CTL Engineering in Charleston, WV is seeking an entry-level Transportation Design Engineer (roadway or bridge) to contribute to design, analysis, and project delivery under WVDOH standards.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, review plans, perform field observations, and support preparation of reports and drawings. A Civil Engineering degree is required; MSCE preferred, and MS Project familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• MSCE preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of WVDOH design standards, specifications and procedures.
• Familiarity with MS Project is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.

We are looking for Transportation Design Engineer (roadway or bridges) who will be involved in the full spectrum of infrastructure engineering projects - from conception through completion.

• Your role will involve designing, analyzing, and evaluating roadways (or bridges) to ensure safety, functionality, and compliance with WVDOH standards and guidelines.
• You’ll leverage your expertise in infrastructure design and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform analysis and design for various types of roadways or bridges, including new constructions, widening and rehabilitations in accordance with WVDOH requirements.
• Review and approve design plans from subcontractors.
• Coordinate with public and governmental agencies for project approvals.
• Assist in preparing and reviewing technical engineering reports, drawings, and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ensure projects adhere to budgetary and scheduling constraints.

Minimum Qualifications
