Transportation Design Engineers (Entry to Mid-Level)

Job Summary

We are seeking full-time Transportation Design Engineers with 1-10 years of experience and an EIT certificate. Candidates should be problem solvers with strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Industry experience in civil engineering and road/highway design is preferred. Motivated self-starters eager to work on diverse projects in the western U.S. are encouraged to apply.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering engineering designs for highway and transportation projects.
• Support roadway infrastructure project design and delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Use AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software for detailed CAD design.
• Verify code compliance, perform quality checks, and implement QA/QC procedures.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, or OpenRoads is desired.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Independent, results-oriented, and dynamic.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with remote teams.

Education and Experience

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field and EIT certification at minimum.
• Experience with federal agencies (FHWA, NPS, USFS, NRCS, etc.) is a plus.
• Knowledge of transportation design standards (AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO, State DOT Manuals).

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Travel to project sites, including remote locations.
• Access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
