Job Summary

We are seeking full-time Transportation Design Engineers with 1-10 years of relevant experience and at least an EIT certificate. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with effective communication, analytical, and organizational skills, and has broad civil engineering and highway design experience. A motivated self-starter who is eager to work on diverse projects in the western U.S., team-oriented, and interested in growth is preferred.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist in delivering engineering designs for Local, State, and Federal highway and transportation projects.
2. Support design teams in roadway infrastructure projects of varying size and complexity.
3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in leading or supporting roles.
4. Provide assistance with design tasks, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar software.
5. Perform detailed CAD design, including roadway geometric design.
6. Verify code compliance, conduct quality checks, and implement QA/QC procedures.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads, or OpenRoads is desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Independent, self-motivated, results-oriented, and dynamic.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work with geographically dispersed teams.

Education and Experience

• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related field and EIT certification (minimum).
• Experience with federal agencies (FHWA, NPS, USFS, NRCS, etc.) is a plus.
• Familiarity with transportation design standards including AASHTO, MUTCD, NACTO, and State DOT Manuals.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Willingness to travel to project sites, including remote locations.
• Access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
