Job summary

DLZ Corporation seeks a Transportation Design Engineer in Chicago, IL, to perform transportation and traffic design tasks, prepare drawings, and coordinate with teams on diverse projects. The role involves reviewing work, preparing estimates, and ensuring quality control on multiple assignments.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree and 3–5 years of roadway experience, with a PE preferred and FE acceptable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 3–5 years of roadway/transportation engineering experience.
  • PE license preferred; FE required/acceptable.
  • Experience with OpenRoads Designer and/or Civil 3D.
  • Experience with IDOT and/or Local Agency Federal Aid projects.
  • Phase II experience with IDOT District 1 or LCDOT etc., preferred.
  • Experience with roadway geometric design.
  • Knowledge of MUTCD, ADA, and PROWAG requirements.
  • Lighting plan experience a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to visit and navigate construction sites in accordance with safety requirements.

  • Experience with roadway geometric design.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
