Job summary

DLZ Corporation in Michigan is seeking a Construction Services Manager - Transportation to develop a group and grow into a leadership role in Southeast Michigan. This position will drive transportation projects, oversee field activities, and lead a team across the Midwest.

You will manage testing and inspection, assist in proposals and budgets, and coordinate with clients while upholding safety standards. DLZ offers a strong benefits package and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) required.
  • 15+ years of construction engineering experience in Transportation.
  • Experience with MDOT and LAP's - Plans/Specifications/Practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Must have the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and willing to use personal vehicle for job related work, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering and construction assignments requiring specialized technical expertise.
  • Responsible for projects and leadership of less experienced staff.
  • Manage inspection and testing personnel on multiple projects including QA/QC testing.
  • Assist in developing proposals, change orders, budgets, contract management, report review and distribution.
  • Reviews new procedures and coordinate new activity startup as required.
  • Constructability reviews on Transportation Projects.
  • Provide technical support for construction services operations.
  • Determine testing and inspection requirements from plans and specs.
  • Report results to supervisor or designated on-site client representative.
  • Maintain records of test results and daily reports.
  • Recognize unusual test results or site conditions and suggest corrections.
  • Perform work in a safe and responsible manner per Health and Safety Plan.
  • Participate in business development and proposal preparation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Responsible for projects and have leadership responsibility for less experienced staff.
